As Grime has veered sharply off into Electro House territory much like US Hip Hop and new breed of producers are now making hard hitting Grime Instrumentals which are being played alongside Hip Hop/Crunk instrumental off shoot genre Trap. American Bass Music connoisseur Starkey cherry picks the best of these for his new mix on the Mishka Blog and that is where I discovered ‘Buku – Slippy’.

Buku aka Robert Balotsky of Pittsburgh, USA has created a Grime riddim so hard you would be mistaken for thinking it was made by a 15 year old on a playstation in a tower block somewhere in London, E3. The ominous eastern guitar and synth intro drop into the most menacing of basslines so heavy I felt my bowels were going to involuntarily evacute themselves. We are the then treated to some double time rolling hats a and ratchet beat which will have you skanking for jheeeezus.

This one is a monster and I can’t wait to hear it in full let alone with some MC’s let loose on it.

You can here Buku in Starkeys mix below somewhere around the 5.10min mark.
