I hate it when a stunning piece of work is sitting gathering dust in my inbox and I don’t discover it till the moment has past, this is one of those moments.
An Experimental music video in collaboration with Channel 4′s Random Acts series, the Etta Bond, Raf Riley and Labrinth masterpiece ‘Under the Knife’ gets a video that has literally gone under the knife.
Starting off as 1374 layers of randomised footage the viewer is forced to pay attention to Etta’s stunning and fragile vocals over just a piano as she second guesses her appearance and tries to makes sense of being a some in the limelight. Solwy over the course of the video the image becomes clearer until you are faced with a rather nervous looking Etta seemingly baring her soul.
It is in moments like these that I realise that Etta Bond is a star even before she has made it out of the gates and she may well polarize the public with her unique style and her frank lyrics but this is exactly what we need. Any A&R’s trying to change this need to be fired. Odd Child seem to be fostering this maverick attitude and I fully commend them for it, long may it live.
I can’t stop hyping up Etta enough because once she gets unleashed on the public it is all over.
